Payee & Fiduciary Management
When managing monthly finances becomes too complex to handle alone, having a trustworthy partner makes all the difference. Catholic Social Services serves as a Representative Payee and fiduciary for persons with disabilities, seniors, and others across 34 Ohio counties and 11 West Virginia counties, managing benefits and finances with care, transparency, and the unwavering commitment to act in each client’s best interest.
Rooted in our Catholic values and our belief in the dignity of every person, this program is about more than paying bills. It is about giving people the security and stability to focus on living their lives.
What Is a Representative Payee?
A representative payee is an individual or organization appointed by the Social Security Administration to receive and manage Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits on behalf of someone who cannot do so independently. The payee is responsible for ensuring that funds are used to meet the beneficiary’s basic needs, including housing, food, medical care, and personal expenses.
Catholic Social Services takes this responsibility seriously. Every financial decision we make on a client’s behalf is guided by the same principles: honesty, transparency, and the beneficiary’s best interest above all else.
