Our Lady of Guadalupe Center

In the heart of Columbus, there is a place where language is not a barrier, culture is honored, and families find the support they need to build stability and confidence. The Our Lady of Guadalupe Center is a signature initiative of Catholic Social Services and a home for the Latino community in central Ohio.
Whether you need food for the week, guidance on immigration questions, help building your English skills, or support starting a business, the center is here. All services are provided free of charge, as a direct expression of our Catholic commitment to the community.

Programs and Services

Food Pantry

The OLGC food pantry provides access to culturally appropriate food for individuals and families in need. Appointments are made by calling 211. The pantry is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays with two shifts each day: 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.

Every Thursday at 4:00 PM, families may also pick up fresh vegetables and fruits. No appointment is needed for the Thursday produce distribution.

To schedule a pantry appointment, call 211 and press option 1 for a Spanish-speaking representative.

Case Management

Our case managers take time to understand your situation, identify your needs, and help you build a plan for next steps. Services include connection to food assistance, ESL enrollment, immigration consultation and referrals, health and wellness resources, workforce programs, and empowerment groups.

Case management is available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. To schedule an appointment, call (614) 945-4677.

ESL Classes

English as a Second Language classes help adult learners build communication skills for work, daily life, and community participation. Classes are offered at multiple levels and taught using immersive, real-world instruction.

Legal Immigration Consultation

The OLGC has an accredited Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) legal representative on staff who has served the community for fifteen years and has provided legal counseling to immigrants since receiving BIA accreditation in 2023. Legal consultations help individuals understand their options and connect with qualified attorneys or accredited representatives when additional legal assistance is needed.

Please note: CSS does not provide attorney representation. These consultations offer guidance, education, and referral support.

Career Navigation and Entrepreneurship
Through Mercadito Raices (Our Roots Market), CSS partners with the Ohio Small Business Development Center to help Hispanic entrepreneurs prepare their businesses to launch and grow. Career navigation services support job seekers with coaching, job readiness skills, and connections to workforce resources.
Community Events and Empowerment Programs
The OLGC offers community events, personal growth workshops for women and men, and programming that supports integration and belonging. The center is a gathering place as much as a service center.

A Legacy of Service

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Center exists today because of the generosity and vision of many who came before. Among them was Dr. Bertha Bouroncle, whose commitment to service helped transform what began as a small food pantry into a multi-service center supporting families with education, food access, legal guidance, and community connection. That legacy continues through every family the center serves today.

“Centro Guadalupe se convirtio en mi casa. Me ayudaron en el area legal de inmigracion, tome clases para emprender un negocio, pude recoger alimentos frescos en su despensa y siempre que necesito algo, se que puedo contar con todos ellos. Gracias.”
