Educational Services

Language is the door to everything else. To a job, to a conversation with your child’s teacher, to a medical appointment you can understand, to a community where you feel at home. Catholic Social Services offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes both in person and online, helping adult learners build the communication skills and confidence to open those doors.

ESL Classes

CSS ESL classes are designed for adult learners at all levels, from beginners learning the foundations of English to those looking to strengthen their existing skills. Classes are available in person at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Center as well as online, offering learners greater flexibility in how they participate.

Through practical, real-world instruction, learners build skills in grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, conversation, reading, and writing.

Every learner comes with different experiences and goals. Some are preparing for employment. Others want to communicate more confidently with their children’s schools, navigate healthcare appointments, manage everyday tasks, or simply feel more connected to their community. ESL classes meet learners where they are and help them develop skills they can use in daily life.

In-Person and Online Learning

Learners can participate in person at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Center or online, making ESL education more accessible for adults with different schedules, transportation needs, and responsibilities.

ESL is one of several programs available through the Our Lady of Guadalupe Center. Additional services include case management, legal and immigration consultations, workforce development, educational opportunities, and empowerment programs. Learners may also be connected with additional CSS resources that can support their individual goals.
